Giuseppe Verdi (1813–1901) was born in the Emilia Romagna as a son of poor innkeepers. From there he made his career throughout the world as a genious opera composer, the public cheered for him and the theaters loved his works. Elke Heidenreich and Tom Krausz tour from Verdi’s birthplace to Sant’Agata, the big manor which served as his creative retreat, they travel to Florence, Bologna and Parma where Verdi celebrated great triumphs and suffered miserable defeats with the performances of his works and they also visit the famous opera houses La Scala in Milan and La Fenice in Venice. Everywhere they encounter traces of the composer...
