Der Ratinger Fotodesigner Udo Haafke arbeitet seit 1985 als freier Fotograf und Bildjournalist. Mitte der 90er-Jahre gründete er sein eigenes Redaktionsbüro. Neben zahlreichen Fotoausstellungen im In- und Ausland, Veröffentlichungen zu regionalen, nationalen und internationalen Reisethemen hat er sich bundesweit mit seinen Reisereportagen und Bildbänden einen Namen gemacht. Beim Sutton Verlag veröffentlichte er zahlreiche regionalgeschichtliche Bildbände.
